Terry Norman has been performing Tuina for over 35 years. He has studied in many different schools both in the U.S. and China, and has over 6600 hours of study in a variety of fields within bodywork and Asian healing arts such as acupressure, Tuina (Chinese medical massage), and Sports Tuina. Terry is Nationally Certified with the NCBTMB (National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork), is a National CE Provider through the NCBTMB, and serves on Exam Committee that develops the national exam for massage therapy. He is also member of the AOBTA (American Organization of Bodywork Therapies of Asia).
He has studied Tuina at the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Shanghai, while doing clinical practice at the Yue Yang Hospital. Later he was with the first group of foreign students to study Sports Tuina at the Olympic Training Center in Beijing.
Along with performing therapy, Terry teaches acupressure, Tuina, Sports Tuina, and Traditional Chinese Medicine locally at area colleges, physical therapy clinics, and massage schools. He also teaches beginning, intermediate, and advance classes in Tuina and Chinese medicine. And, in 2001, Terry developed the first certification program in the country in Asian Bodywork at the Atlanta School of Massage. To date, Terry has written several instructional manuals on acupressure, Tuina, Sports Tuina, Point Location, and Traditional Chinese Medicine, and produced the first instructional video on Sports Tuina in the United States

Tuina Workshop (Chinese Medical Massage)

This course is an introduction to Tuina (Chinese medical massage). It will cover basic theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine, theory of channels, history of Chinese massage, it's development, and how it compares to other western massage therapies. In addition, students will learn 7 Tuina techniques, and an upper body Tuina procedure designed to reduce stress, headaches, sinus problems, and improve the flow of Qi (vital energy) and blood in the upper body.
The course is structured to give the student an entry level education into the scope of what Chinese medical massage (Tuina) can accomplish. Time to develop basic skills with the techniques and procedures will be scheduled. This class is designed to be informative, and fun.

Sports Tuina Workshop (Chinese Sports Medical Massage)

This course is an introduction to Sports Tuina (Chinese Sports medical massage). It will cover basic theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine, theory of channels, history of Chinese massage, it's development, and how Sports Tuina compares to other western sports therapies. In addition, students will learn 5 Sports Tuina techniques along with 2 orthopedic sports injury procedures dealing with ankle sprain and knee strain.
The course is structured to give the student an entry level education into the scope of what Chinese Sports Massage (Sports Tuina) can accomplish. Several of the techniques taught have never before been seen in this country, and can produce results in half the time of western sports rehab procedures. Time to develop basic skills with the techniques and procedures will be scheduled. You'll be able to help your athletic clients in ways you never before thought you could. This class is designed to be informative, and fun.
