For twenty years I've been demonstrating and teaching techniques developed by my father, the Sacro Wedgy® inventor. He started this journey using his hand to hold the sacrum as taught to him by an osteopath. Massage therapists starting using the Sacro Wedgy® to enhance existing techniques and a unique modality took form utilizing the Sacro Wedgy® to address specific muscle imbalances. Requests from therapists for more instruction of how to use this valuable tool is what lead to this class. It will be information they will always use for themselves and their clients throughout their careers. Website: Sacro Wedgy
Sacrology® - study of the sacrum utilizing the Sacro Wedgy® 14 CE Contact Hours The purpose of this class is to offer guidelines of our common sense understanding of the theory of the sacrum - the "keystone" of our anatomy and our anatomical center of gravity. We will also discuss the complexity of the muscles and nerves surrounding the sacrum. By utilizing the Sacro Wedgy® combined with a variety of gentle non-invasive releases and strengthening isometrics, we offer the therapists or individual a tool to help create muscle balance to help themselves as well as their clients. The simplicity of the Sacro Wedgy® addresses the complexity of the pelvic girdle or the "core" of our anatomy. The more we achieve muscle balance in the middle, the better the entire posture which transfers to fewer symptoms. I want this class to be a "one time" class - not an introduction to another class but the experience and repetition of the routines to be secure enough to include the Sacro Wedgy® as one of the most valuable tools in the "arsenal" of Massage Therapy tools. Don't forget the most important part of learning these techniques and that is the self care part for therapist with their own "issues". That's why each therapist will first receive their own demonstration to help with sciatica, low back pain, leg pain and more. Then each therapist will start working on each other to learn a very gentle approach to releasing the psoas and piriformis muscles - the more gentle and relaxing therapy is, the more likely the client will return. We are looking forward to a fun class with a lot of hands on. Just wear comfortable pants - no jeans please |
