When Good Shoulders Go Bad 8 CE Credit Hours When a joint presents with a high degree of mobility, instability is an associated factor. The shoulder is one of the most mobile joints in the body and an array of complications can result from poor habits of use and from trauma. This course will explore the complex makeup of the shoulder joint and a variety of associated dysfunctions, syndromes, and surgeries. We will also look at how some habitual sport movements alter the shoulder forever. We will palpate and treat the primary muscles that cause shoulder pain and dysfunction. Massage tables are not needed for this course. Hand and Forearm Pain
4 CE Credit Hours The most important region for manual practitioners to understand is that with which we earn our living - the hands and forearms! The complex anatomy is simplified through great graphics and excellent instruction. Discussions include the anatomical 'language' and a variety of pathologies and dysfunctions, including carpal tunnel syndrome, claw hand, trigger-thumb, trigger points and more! Participate in a hands-on trade of the NMT treatment protocols and personally benefit during the course. Bring a towel and some form of lubrication (no lavender, please). NMT and the Dynamic Foot
4 CE Credit Hours Our bodies are challenged to deal with gravity every day. Excessive demands on the musculoskeletal system result in adaptation, compensation and, decompensation and often produce serious consequences. This course will focus on the foot and on useful strategies to deal with dysfunctional gait mechanics brought on by structural collapse, the close environment (such as shoes) and habits of use. Foot anatomy, movements of the foot during gait, assessment of the plantar vault, navicular drop test, and single leg stance tests are some of the included topics. Massage tables are not needed for this course.
