The need for effective treatments for autism, Fragile X, and other autism spectrum disorders (ASD) could not be more dire. The CDC's Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring assert that in 2018 1 in 36 children will be affected by ASD. That number shows a 30% increase from 2008 (1 in 88), and more than doubled since 2000 (1 in 150). We are having an epidemic of devastating proportions and we need remedies sooner rather than later.
Our children have been treated with medications, sensory integration techniques, behavioral strategies, speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy and we have seen some improvement. But nothing compares to the astonishing results achieved by many therapists who use Upledger CranioSacral Therapy (CST) and other effective bodywork modalities. Tami Goldstein's own daughter, Heather, who was severely affected by autism, now holds a job, owns her home, and is in a meaningful relationship after she was functionally treated with CST. These strategies and techniques have impacted the lives of hundreds of individuals who were limited by their autism.
