 Brita Ostrom Esalen® Institute
|
Brita Ostrom began her massage practice at Esalen® Institute, 1969. Together with the Esalen® Massage Crew, she helped refine and continually update Esalen® Massage, an individualized, wholistic bodywork approach. Her studies with Trager, zero-balancing, Patrick Douce and Feldenkrais and countless movement, meditation and awareness practice, and psychological disciplines continue to grow and inspire her work. She is also a licensed psychotherapist and is convinced the body and mind are inseparable, always playing together. “We don’t have a healing field without connection,” she affirms. For her, the healing experience also comes through contact with nature, something bigger than ourselves. She teaches in the US, Canada, and Japan.

Brita will be the Keynote Speaker at the Induction Ceremony, Sunday, October 21, 2007 at 6:00 PM.

 Nathalie Cecilia Bamboo Fusion
| Born in Nimes, a Roman city located in Provence (South France), Nathalie Cecilia is your Bamboo Massage Therapy instructor. With a master's degree in Philosophy and Languages from the Universitee Des Lettres De Montpellier, she began her career as a teacher and a translator.
Traveling from the age of 16 around Europe--and later around the world--she pursued her passion for discovering new horizons, and crossed the Atlantic in order to explore the United States and experience life here. It was here that she decided to change her career.
Keeping her goal to help people in mind, she attended the Sarasota School of Massage Therapy. Three months following her graduation in 2004, she opened Two Touch Company--a Thai studio and massage therapy office in Sarasota, Florida.
Many of Nathalie's clients were asking for deep tissue treatment. She soon began to experience pain and fatigue in her hands and wrists. When she started using bamboo to assist her with deep tissue work, she noticed that her pain subsided and her clients loved it.
She developed an innovative way to give bamboo massage on the table (Bamboo-Fusion) and in the chair (Bamboo-2-Go), meanwhile creating her own bamboo set to give the massage. Her goal today is to help therapists provide deep massage without hurting themselves. This technique aids in avoiding repetitive injuries, such as carpal tunnel, and reduces the stress on thumbs, wrists and hands.

Nathalie will be teaching "Bamboo Fusion Therapy" on Saturday.
