Visceral Dynamics: The Effects of Organ Restriction on Posture, Pain, and Sports Performance

8 CE Hours

Class description:

A unique approach to visceral work that explores the effects of organ mobility on functional biomotion throughout the body. Understand how restrictions in the viscera and surrounding structures contribute to chronic pain and poor sports performance. Learn to optimize organ mobility to restore functional patterns and relieve restriction and tension.

It has been demonstrated that fascial restrictions within and around the organs can lead to referred pain, restricted joint and muscle motion, and other structural compensations that lead to pain syndromes. While therapists are required to know basic organ position, they learn very little (if any) of organ mobility relative to other organs, the breath, and body motion, or visceral effects on overall structural integrity. This session provides an introduction to understanding and working with these dynamics which are very important for effectively addressing pain and function. We combine structural and functional therapeutic approaches and utilize the Franklin Method approach of experiential anatomical study to experience the organs and how they move through all three planes of motion as well as specific hands on releases to address restrictions and restore mobility.

PLEASE DO NOT WEAR PERFUME, COLOGNE OR ESSENTIAL OILS TO CLASS.
